"I conceived the photos of the objects to highlight their physical form. I photographed them as if they were sculptures.
They are imperfect objects but full of history and experience, and they reveal the wear and tear due to the performance [...]
The objects do not represent a complete sampling of my performances, nor do they have a causal order,
but they have been chosen only with the criterion of pleasure. " LIUBA
Thursday 2nd of August LIUPIROGI E PAGIOPA dedicates an evening to performance, art publishing and video art
hosting the presentation of the volume LIUBA PERFORMANCE OBJECTS.
On the occasion of the evening, together with the author will also be present the Councilor for the Arts of the Municipality of Rimini Massimo Pulini and the curator Cristina Principale, who will accompany the public not only to the discovery of the volume, but also to the performative and historical context that has produced it. Some complete videos of the artist will also be screened.
Published by Quinlan, the volume consists of about twenty portraits of objects used by the artist during her performances, individually photographed so as not to seem trivial fragments of everyday life, but "things" able to convey the history of performance that involved them.
At the bottom of the volume, in fact, a series of image sequences - almost stills from a film - tell in what moment of LIUBA's artistic life a certain object was used, for what performance and on what occasion.
A text by LIUBA and one by the curator Luca Panaro complete the volume, which is published in a limited edition of 200 copies, numbered and signed by the artist.
